"Bingo Queen"

"Bingo Queen"
4"x6" Postcard
(Click on her teacup to see the details!)

In addition to playing risque parlor games, my old friend, Queenie, liked nothing better than playing a few raucous games of Bingo. Following a trip to the beauty parlor for a quick blue hair rinse, she slipped into her best pink cashmere sweater, donned her jewels, had a quick cup of tea and headed to the bingo hall for an evening's entertainment. (Truth be told, dear Queenie has a "thing" for the bingo caller, Mr. Foxworth!)

-------------------------

My Techniques
Sunday Postcard Art's theme this week was "Bingo", and I couldn't resist using Queenie once again. If you'd like to read about Queenie's checkered past, click here. (You can also snag her "freebie" picture on that post.)

All of the images were sized in a photo editing program. Queenie, the colorful bingo card background and the bingo numbers were all digitally arranged. The digital collage was printed, and the butterflies, scalloped edging (made with a paper punch) and rose were glued into their positions.

After enhancing some of the images with watercolors, Prismacolor markers and pan pastels, shadows were added with a smudged charcoal pencil. White acrylic paint was used to create Queenie's pearls and to add highlights to the bingo numbers.

The word "queen" and the flourishes were stamped with brown Stazon ink. The entire piece was edged with a copper-colored metallic marker.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Thanks to all for these great images!

Do you s'pose Mr. Foxworthy's found her free spot? This is a fun and artistic entry for the challenge, Terri. S'cuse me for making shady comments!

I think the lady is torn between being upmarket and her love of bingo which shows in her expression suggesting there is something a tiny bit smelly under her nose. This is funny and it is also very beautiful. Wonderful artwork.

Looks like she's won more than her fair share of Bingo rounds, as well. Lovely story behind your beautiful art!

Hi Miss Terri! I loved Queenie the first time around and you found a way to make her beautifully fun again! Absolutely Terri-ific!

I wish I could figure out how to digitally extract figures from their background like you. You are a whiz at this! And your piece with Dee is just as tender as can be. Such a lovely post too!

Have a good week dear Lady! And thank you for all of your sweet visits!
