"Chaplin"

"Chaplin"
Digital Collage
(Click on the butterfly to see the details!)

It's always fun to try something new, and I'm always fascinated with how amazing it is to create something in a digital format.

"Chaplin" is the theme at the Three Muses this week, and my entry is totally digital. Although I keep trying to flex my digital "wings", in all honesty I almost didn't post this piece. For some odd reason it just seemed "unfinished" for me; however, the longer I looked at it, the more I liked it!

------------------------

My Techniques

I digitally spray painted several layers of color over a black and white checkered background from Crowabout. After choosing a vintage black and white picture of Chaplin, I played with the threshold settings to create a stencil and cleaned up the edges with the paintbrush tool. Brushes (Deviant Art) created the scrolls. and I added the butterfly (Dover Publications) and the word, "dreamer" (Crowabout).

Hope you have a fun-filled day!

It fun to see you stretch your digital wings, Terri. With your sense of color and design you will take to it like a duck to water, and add it to your LONG list of talents! This is a great piece. The touch of orange of the butterfly is the perfect accent!

It is lovely to see your budding digital work Terri and I'm always fascinated to see what people do in Photoshop being a Paint Shop Pro user myself and although I do have Photoshop on my computer as well I've not used it yet. Maybe I'll give it a go seeing what you have done!!

My goodness Terri I hate to think you might not have shared this with the group, it is clever, colourful, accomplished, truly awesome and above all original.

Three cheers for your digital debut.

Can you remember where you got the Charlie brush, I would love to own one myself?

Terri, your piece is very impressive in all it's simplicity (I mean visually, not technically)! There's just the right amount of details, and the blue-and-black background is stunningly beautiful.

Wow, I must say this again, probably in a different way, but the sentiment is the same. You are a true artist. You can make magic with anything you get your hands on and I am blessed to know your spirit. Wish you were close to go to the Spirited Women Party tonight at my dear friend, Shelley's. But your friendship will be in the air. Blessings and congrats on the amazing creations.

I am speechless! This thoroughly modern card is undoubtedly my favorite in the CC challenge. That blue checkerboard is such an electric background for Charlie. Love it!
