Daylight Savings Time Reminder

Your Freebie!
(From the Library of Congress)

This is the weekend that we turn the clocks ahead one hour for Daylight Savings Time. Officially the clocks are to be turned ahead one hour at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March. As everyone in my family knows, this is my least favorite weekend of the year, and here are my top ten reasons why.
  1. Being a woman, there aren't enough hours in the day.
  2. The **cough, cough** more mature I get, the more I find that I need my beauty sleep.
  3. It bears repeating . . . There aren't enough hours in the day.
  4. It takes at least a week for my poor "Boomer" body to acclimate to the time change.
  5. Reminder . . . There aren't enough hours in the course of a day.
  6. Once the hour is gone, where does it go? Is it in a "holding area"? Is it like the TARP money? I'm sure there's a HUGE deficit of hours hidden somewhere in our government's vaults. (And now they want to run health care!!!)
  7. With all that needs to be accomplished, there just isn't enough time ever!
  8. During the course of the next week or so, it's disconcerting to find a watch that hasn't been turned ahead an hour. It's just a rude reminder that an hour has disappeared, never to be seen again.
  9. Once again . . . There aren't enough hours in the day to accomplish everything I want to do!
  10. See reasons 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9!!!!!
Hope you enjoy every precious moment of your day!

Your post is right on spot. Sleep deprivation takes its toll. And switching times is a real time killer.

I'm with you on this. I HATE it when the clocks go forward...it takes ages to adjust to! Kate :-)

But on the positive side--it stays lighter out!! Does that help :(

Love your sense of humor Terri! That is a great image you posted.

Unfortunately, the older you get the faster time disappears. There are many theories to back this up and I'm not sure any of them are right.

Oh Terri, I really did need your sense of humor this morning :)
I like that it is going to be longer days of light and I don't sleep well anyway with all my hot flashes so what's another hour to me?

OK, this post is just too funny! Both the image (boy, I really had to take a 2nd and 3rd look at the girls who were wearing what looked like a 'plumber's helper' on their heads!) and your funny wit. It does make you wonder just where that extra time goes!

Over the past thirty years, my State has held three referenda on the subject of daylight saving. The politicians finally surrendered before the beginning of summer after a decisive vote against the dreaded changing of the clock. So this year we didn't have to change our clocks. We can sleep in the cool of the early morning. We are not eating dinner in the heat of the day and children aren't going to bed during hot, daylight hours. Yes, we are out of kilter with the rest of Australia but, like the US, we have different time zones anyway. Your photo is wonderful. Thanks so much for the freebie.

funny..when I worked 7pm-7am as an R.N. , this was my FAVORITE WEEKEND !!!Now, I dread it....takes me weeks,if not months ,to get used to it!! Also, hard to get my grandkids in at night since it's light out so late!!!
Really..I'm with you..not enough hours in the day and where does that hour go? I think, once every few years,we should get the hours back, just on one day!!

Funny, Terri! Hard to explain to the kids why bed-time is out of sync with daylight... Any chance TARP money will be discovered when we set the clocks back again? Thx for the smile today.
