"Ride, Sally, Ride"

"Ride, Sally, Ride"
4"x6" Postcard
(Click on a bubble to see the details!)

I adore the ocean, and it's been way too long since I've had a trip to the shoreline. Maybe that's what was going through my mind when I created this postcard.

My background was created with many 'washes' of Golden fluid acrylics in cobalt blue, turquoise and green (applied with a baby wipe and allowed to dry in between washes), followed by doodles of white gel pen 'bubbles'.

Hope you have a serene day!

Credits: Special thanks to Moonlight Journey for the central image of Sally on the fish, the other fish in the sea, and all of the pretty seashell. Thanks, also, to Nancy Baumiller's Crowabout Group - Flickr for the top and bottom borders.

Terri, your marine life study in all its glory is superb. I live ten minutes walk away from the Indian Ocean and wide white beaches and I am ashamed to say that I take it for granted.

Your artwork is amazing.

I found it interesting that you used baby wipes to apply the acrylic. Whatever you did, it came out great! Colors and fish are wonderful.

ahhh you make me yearn for the sea too Terri! Love your Ride Sally Ride...you are probably situated similarly to me and not all that far from the beaches ... it just takes time and focus to get ourselves there, doesn't it! I too am pining away for a beach retreat!
Love every detail, wings and flying fishes and fun fun stockings ... wunderbar!
