A New Journal Project

Envie Journal

(Click on any of these pics to see the details!)

Have I ever told you that I love a challenge?!? Well that's exactly what this is - a wonderful, artful challenge issued by my art group to make six art journal pages using business-sized envelopes. Yup! Plain, white business envelopes.

 Envie Journal
Back
After sealing the envelope shut, you simply fold it in half and cut it along the fold. Now you have two little 'pocket pages' just waiting to be filled with creative inserts. Here's a peek at mine spilling out of my first page's pocket.

And a better look . . .
First Insert
(Butterfly with Artist Info on Back)
And
The Second Insert . . .

Because we're to embellish these pages - or 'chunk them up' - you may have noticed the yarn, glitter, rhinestones, tulle and beads.

(Inserts are in the pocket.)
And,
A little embossing powder
& glitter . . .

Who would ever guess that this page began as a humble, white envelope. I've five more pages to make, so stay tuned!!!

May your day be filled with joy and surprises!

Thanks also to Our Dear Suzee Que-Flickr for the image of the lady in the birdcage. Woman on front from my collection. Borders, stars and roses - Pringle Hill Studio.

As always, your splashes of color transformed this white envelope into a true work of art. I especially love the birdcage and the "play" butterfly. Of course, it was all pretty special.

These (as always) are lush and soaked in color & charm! Fabulous idea for a journal! I miss you (and the rest of the world)! x0 - Michelle PS...is Amusing Muses still in operation?? All I've gotten since mid-June is a white screen...sort of like it just winked out of existence...

Oh, hey....I am a teensy weensie inspired here because I get more bills and nasty letters from my student loan company than I know what to do with, and I can totally use those one million envelopes to make cool pages.
Maybe I'll hate Sallie Mae and the sheer persistence of the Dept of Education less if I do something with it...

No, probably not. But, I'll try anyway!

I just grabbed an envelope, folded it and YES. This would make a wonderful little pocket for journal page. I love all the colorful pieces peeking out of yours!

This is a very creative project. I think when they gave out "time" (and talent) you were first in line and got the most!!!
