Zentangle Bookmark

One of the August challenges listed in my art group was to create a Zentangle bookmark for a private swap. What a fun, easy and portable project!

All you need is some card stock or watercolor paper, a black pen to draw your doodles, and a bit of patience. If you're interested in seeing more Zentangles, Flickr has some wonderful examples.

Giveaway Reminder!

If you'd like to enter or learn more about my current giveaway, you can click here. If you leave a comment on this post (or the original post), you're 'in'. Just be sure that I have a way to contact you if you do win. The lucky winner's name will be posted after midnight on Friday, August 13.

May your day be filled with peace!

Okay Terri, this background you have going on here with your zentangles is seriously awesome! I may have to try something like that. It's wonderful when you look at this because you can focus on the zentangles and see all that intricate detail or switch and just focus on your background. This really turned out beautifully!

I absolutely love it! Doodling made exciting and artistic. The design is perfect for your bookmarker. Portable art projects are hard to find.

This is lovely. Why is it, people who zentangle say how fun and easy it is? Gotta admit, ONE was enough for me. I just can't get into it. But yours is gorgeous and the design is so unique, too.

I have a zentangle journal, but there's nothing in it that approximates this! Beautifully done, Terri, and finished off so nicely with the ties!

Beautiful zentangling Terri, it must have taken you ages and ages. it is relaxing for some people to sit and doodle yet for others it is frustrating LOL.
You make yours into works of art :)

Terri, You have inspired me this morning! I am beginning a new school year today, and when I saw you post today, it occurred to me that these would make awesome Christmas gifts for my students. The high school juniors that I teach seem fascinated that I am also an artist and they are always asking me to do something especially for them. Bookmarks would be perfect, if they turn out half as wonderful as your zentangle. Hope you have a great week!

I zentangled like a mad woman some months ago - it suddenly stopped. Just tired of it one day... looking at this makes me want to pick it up again, it's beautiful and so relaxing (almost meditative - I think that's where the "zen" came from isn't it?)... GREAT project!!!

Diana Evans said...
