Background "Freebie"

A Painted Background
For your artful pleasure!

Although I have a few art projects for challenges in the works, this past week I've been painting background after background. I find it extremely relaxing and fun to take a blank sheet of deli paper or watercolor paper and just "have at it" with acrylic paints, inks, water soluble crayons, stamps and whatever else seems to be at hand. The results always surprise me.

So here's a little something to keep your Monday from being too "blue"! Please feel free to use my deli paper background as your own. Use it all or crop a piece of it. Print it out and add more paint. Listen to your Muse and have some artful fun.

May you have a very colorful day!

I really MUST get in my studio and just play, using paint and deli paper. It is one of my favorite media now. But, since I discovered watercolor paper, I really love it, too. If I could make papers as lovely as yours, I would die happy and go to heaven. Love this digital freebie.

BTW, saw Cynnie's comment and could resist seeing what was up. I'll not spoil the post, though.

As always-thank you so much! And yes, I agree, painting papers is fun!! Just like when we were kids-not thinking or worrying about the outcome--just being in the moment!

Hi Terri,

I've been trying to decide where to use the bright and cheerful freebie you just posted. I'm thinking maybe an envelope, background for journal page, paper doll legs. The sky is the limit on this one.

Thanks so very much!

Now this is a riot of color if I've ever seen one. Thanks again Terri! I never would have guessed it was water soluable crayon either - so you've also given me a new idea to try out. Have a great week!

Oh how wonderful, Terri! This would be a fun print for a texture overlay and to do a packing transfer like you and Roc demonstrated! Already saved in my picture files just waiting for the fun to begin! Thank you, dear one! Xo, Sue

Thanks so much Terri, I do enjoy messing about on paper like that too. I will be saving this for further use, and maybe even try it in PS as a texture :)

I too have been making a lot of background papers like yourself. I didn't post mine because I didn't think anyone would want to see just that, but I might be wrong. Yours looks amazing just as it is. Love, love, love the look of the sheet you did.

Yes! Painting is so relaxing that when I get in the groove I paint background after background and they all wind up surprisingly different. This one is super cool, looks like you had a blast with it!
