Envie Journal - Page 5

 Front

 Back

Whoo Hoo! Now that I've finished journal page #5, I am a very happy camper. If you look closely, you'll notice that the background is crinkled. That's because I've used painted deli paper for this journal page. The previous pages were made using hand painted papers.

Additionally, this journal page is my entry for the Three Muses challenge this week: "Wings on Things". Very serendipitous!

The picture shown above boasts another Shrinky Dink charm. This chunky journal seemed to lend itself to these whimsical embellishments, and they were a lot of fun to make. You know you're an artist when you use your oven and baking sheets for polymer clay and Shrinky Dinks!

May you enjoy an artful pleasure today!

Real Eye candy and always fun to explore the details!
I am still looking for the shrinky dink paper at Michael's ... it took ours a while to get the white gel pens ... I am thinking it may be the same with the s. dinks?
Happy middle of your art week dear!

Terri, this is such a spectacular post. I linked it in my own last blog post. I love the combinations of images and color and detail as I always do in your work, but the inserts, and ribbons, and shrinky dink features are just incredible! I have stacks of deli paper left from when I taught art. One of my favorite projects to teach color mixing with kids was to blow liquid watercolor across the deli paper with a straw. It made the most beautiful papers and the crinkle just added to it's charm. Gorgeous, Terri!

I don't know where to begin! I know I'm really late visiting, but you knew I'd get here eventually. From the 32 previous messages, I can tell how popular this envie journal really is and how colorful and richly detailed the art is.

Isn't that deli paper fun to work with? I really love it, ever since I got inspired by Marilyn Rock's video many months ago. It makes great backgrounds, as is evidenced by this beauty.

I am also in awe of the shrinky dinks. You sure know how to turn your oven into an art tool!

Some time back, I told you I was using one of your Friday freebies, but couldn't show it until my swap friend received her pages. Well, tomorrow (oops, today Oct 21) is the day. And yes, as always, I give you credit for providing such lovely freebie art for me to use in my art.

Terri, You have to be just loving how this piece of art is turning out! So delightful! I adore the way the birdie's tail feathers are made from streamers of ribbons. Such a fun surprise. Your art always makes me zero in on details...the repetition...I find myself mentally subtracting elements in order to see how much they add to the piece. Does that make sense? You don't have to answer that...ha ha! Xo, Sue
