This piece of mail art was created for my art group's "flower themed" altered art envelope challenge. This month's entry had to have at least one flower on the front and one on the back of the piece.
I'm also very pleased to submit this envelope for The Three Muses nature-themed challenge this week.
To make the pretty sherbet-colored background, I blended and brushed my Neocolor crayons with gesso. I also added packing tape transfers, acrylic paint, markers, stamps and a few die cut roses (from S&K Co.). The pastel bird was created from a scrap of hand painted paper that I had on hand from another project. To make the fish scale pattern, I used a piece of plastic netting from a produce box as a stencil. A hand doodled label (from S&K Co.) was attached to the front of the envelope with gel medium, and my handmade "Love" label was attached to the back.
