Goddess of Love

 Goddess of Love
Approximately 4" Long
(Click on any picture to see the details.)

One of the advantages of being in an art group is that you're forced to grow new creative wings. When the challenge was presented to create a goddess - either one to wear or one to hang - I was a bit intimidated. I'd never made a goddess of any type before!

With minimal jewelry skills, a pendant was out of the question. However, I could manage to create a hanging goddess.

After tracing a template onto watercolor, the mixed media fun began. I pulled out my Golden acrylics, a few stamps, watercolors and paint pens. And, since one of the requirements was to include at least one 3-D item in our creation, I even found my polymer clay to make her tiny face.

With Valentine's day around the corner, a Goddess of Love seemed most appropriate.

May your day be filled with love,

Your goddess is just gorgeous! I'm a little intimidated to join this swap, since I'm ALL thumbs at jewelry making. However, after seeing yours, maybe I'll try something today.

Thanks for the inspiration!!!
