Video - Background Technique

Misted Backgrounds

A few weeks ago, Roc and I had another opportunity for a play date, and recorded this short video. If you've always wondered how those soft, misty backgrounds are created, this is an easy technique to try. A quick word of caution . . . before you start using this technique, be sure to cover and protect your workspace from any overspray.

Finished Journal Page

Thought you would like to see how the page in the video looks with additional color and some journaling. This simple, yet very effective technique, resulted in quite a different "look" for me!

May you enjoy a very creative day!

Awesome! Love the finished piece, too. I love it when you two have a play day! I laughed and laughed at the legs on that one image. You couldn't have planned it any funnier if you'd tried.

Do you know why the video is so inspiring to me Terri ? Because in some way you can use this lesson also in photoshop !!
By adding (for example) clouds on a background → with a filter gausian blur , you can receive the same soft effect.
Further with a texture of lace etc. etc. you can play along.
Hmmmzzz...I'm just thinking aloud LOL but anyway...it was very interesting to watch !!!

By the way...i LOVED the use of the chimpanzee in your previous post !!!
