Index-Card-A-Day Challenge

Last month Tammy from Daisy Yellow-Art Journaling  posted an interesting challenge. The premise is to create, draw, doodle, write, collage something on a simple index card. Creativity was encouraged.

The challenge: Do it every day during the months of June, July and August for a total of approximately 90 art cards.

Index cards are small, and - believe it or not - fairly durable. The challenge seemed interesting, so I decided to participate.

Although I haven't been entirely faithful to the "one card a day" commitment, I've been fairly consistent and have skipped only a few days. To be honest, sometimes I'll prepare a few backgrounds ahead of time so that I can create a tiny page when I have just a few "art minutes" to spare.

These are a some of the mini-art journal pages (warts and all) that I've created for Tammy's challenge. They're quick and fun, and I'll be posting more index cards as the summer progresses.

If you'd like to participate, or if you'd like to see some of Tammy's "Index Card A Day" prompts, click here to visit her blog, Daisy Yellow.

May you enjoy an art-full day!

I think that it is a blessing to all of us that you started mixed media, was it two years ago on your card? I am so glad. You have a unique, expressive, and joyous style that gives me a warm rush and smile when I visit and see what you are up to, friend. Blessings and light, Amy

Terri, I'm thrilled to see your artwork in this small format and I'm happy that you've joined the ICAD crew this summer. They're addictive, though, and I find myself carrying them around in my handbag for those free moments of doodling. Thank you as well for your positive feedback and support.

What a wonderful idea, - and I love what you did with yours!

I'm struggling to even keep my little squares in my monthly calendar going at the moment, but may give this a try when my summer break starts, it would be fun to bind them in a book.
I really, really like the way you have played with sayings on these too.
Terri, thank you, you always are an inspiration!

I'm highly surprised and laughing while reading this... are you kidding me? I found the same 'challenge blog' last week and created the first index card yesterday! I guess this inspiration was in the air??? I don't do one card every day (too much other stuff to take care of, busy, busy...) but I planned to do one every once in a while... you'll see them coming! Oh, and did I tell you that I love yours! So colourful and inspiring!

I'm in love with all that color. And of course, I am crazy about those index cards you are creating. You have such a flair for color, collage, and fun words. They all combine to make this the perfect project for you. How wonderful. I suspect if I were motivated right now, I would probably join this challenge. But right now, just filling in one sentence a day in my "Kate" journal seems to be a challenge.

These are so special. I love the one about passion. It is true, we can accomplish anything when we have it. Also, I know I already commented about the toilet paper rolls but I was looking at one the other day and thought of you..LOL! What an amazement.

What a wonderful idea for a challenge, it encourages you to do even a little art each day, and I love what you have been doing with yours, great art work as always:)

Wow, Terrie, these are cool! I know how hard this is b/c I did an ATC a day for a year! Filling up a bigger space on an index card has to be a real challenge. Kudos to you!
