Gratitude Journal

With all of the bad news and bad weather in the world, not to mention flooding, economic downturns and illnesses, I decided that it was a good time to count my blessings - no matter how small or inconsequential. A Moleskine journal (3 1/2"x5 1/2") on my shelf seemed to be waiting for a special project - a gratitude journal. So on a quiet August afternoon, I gessoed all of the pages in preparation for my backgrounds, images and journaling.

Thanks

The goal has been to find something to be thankful and grateful for each day. It doesn't matter what it is or how insignificant.  My thoughts of gratitude express how I'm feeling at the time I sit down to write in this journal.  And although I haven't journaled every single day, I have been very faithful to my "Gratitude Project".

Expect Miracles!

If you'd like to see the spreads in their entirety along with the details, please click on each of the pages. Since each landscaped spread is 11" long, it was very difficult to post a total overview of the pages.

Wishing you a day filled with gratitude and joy!

I think this is an excellent time to start and keep a gratitude journal. Times are so uncertain, but there are so many things we can be grateful for. Thanks for the idea and inspiration.

Wow, what a fabulous journal. A gratitude journal is a great idea - we soon forget to be grateful for the small things don't we? Gorgeous as always terri :-)

Wonderful pages and such a good exercise for us all - we do tend to forget the little things we take for granted. I love moleskines!

Terri, this is a wonderful idea. I think of things I'm grateful for each day but don't put them down on paper/journal. I must start writing them down so that I can review what all there is to be thankful for when the "other" stuff comes along.

you are so right that we need a gratitude journal. I've been grateful since yesterday for finally getting some rain in "very thirsty" Texas.

we do have a lot to be thankful for. we often times take even our simplest things for granted and grumble and complain about nothing. so it's awesome you want to consciously choose to be more grateful. we can all use that in our lives, can't we. beautiful work! and in case you didn't know it - i'm grateful for you!

I too am very aware of the weight of being grateful...it is the only thing that has gotten me out of some very dark days in the past...
recognizing even the smallest things is just so powerful...it is amazing!

That is truly a great project... I might follow your lead and do one myself too. I happen to have this little square book with no goal right now, and think I will designate it towards a small gratitude book. Thanks for the idea! And your layouts rock of course... How could they not?

I've been posting a gratitude list every Thursday on my blog for the last several weeks. Just whatever I think of off the top of my head that moment. I've also been wanting to start an art journal for a while now. With your lovely pages as an inspiration, I may combine the two soon. Love your art work!
