Portland, Maine - September 2011

Welcome to Portland, Maine

As promised, here's a slideshow of the pictures that I took in Portland, Maine when we were on vacation a few weeks ago. Portland is a very old port city; and the day we were there, the "Queen Elizabeth II" was docked. If you look closely at the first few slides, you'll see cobblestone streets. These streets were constructed hundreds of years ago with the rocks that were used as ballast from incoming cargo ships.

Portland boasts lovely architecture (You'll see a lot of granite!), and has become quite a tourist destination. It is a healthy, thriving seaport that supports many arts. Hope you enjoy my virtual tour!

Wishing you a day filled with simple pleasures!

Portland Maine has been added to my bucket list. I love the cobbled streets. They remind me of my Belgian home town Kortrijk. Lovely color spots in your photographs!

I checked out the slide show and fell in love with Portland, ME. It is gorgeous. I even saw the cobblestone streets and walks. The art was inspiring and I loved the bird. I don't believe I have ever been to Maine. It is a paradise.

But I was confused by the title. It read Sept, 2000. I even backed the video to recheck what I read. I suspect that was a typo, because it all looked so colorful and fresh.

Thanks for taking us on this tour. It's been so much fun seeing a part of the country I don't think I've ever seen before.

Yes please, I would like one of everything....Terri! Great tour - and those birds at the beginning...and the beaded tassels! Did you buy anything? The glass balls too - I think you've given me an idea of what I should do with my studio window upstairs that at present has zippo window coverings on it.
Thanks for the great visit!

Terri, the chef from my sculpture school lived (and was a chef) in Portland for 10 year. He's been homesick for Portland so I'm going to send him a link to your video. It was so well put together and I enjoyed seeing all the wonderful art and clothes! Thanks so much.
