Heading to Maine!

How fortuitous is it that this month's prompt was: "If you could live anywhere, where would you like to live? And, send someone a postcard." It's very serendipitous because we'll on our way to Maine tomorrow to visit our daughter and her beautiful family. This weekend will be filled with kids, grand-kids, dogs, and even a birthday cake. (One of our grand-daughters will be turning 13!)

I'm actually hoping for a bit of fog, a quick peek at the coastline, a visit to one of my favorite yarn shops and lots of lobster. While I'm away, I'll have limited access to the internet, but will check in occasionally. (I can't stray too far away from the matrix!)

Additionally, I'll be taking a small, self-imposed blogging break, and won't be posting anything new until the first week in May. I've been on overload lately, and this much-needed sojourn will replenish my creative soul and blow away a few internet cobwebs.

Video - A New Background Technique

When Roc and I get together for an art play date, we're never sure about the subject of our latest video until the last moment. This video features a supply from the hardware store -- metal venting tape. After this video was filmed, we realized that this versitile, flexible tape could be put through an embossing machine (like a Sizzix or Vagabond) too.

Thanks for all of your lovely comments on our videos. We love making and sharing them with you. And, if we can get you to laugh a little and learn a bit too, we've accomplished our goal!

April 2011

When I posted my completed March calendar, you knew that the April post wouldn't be very far behind. You tell that I'm anticipating warmer weather and sunshine by my color choices on this month's spread.

Ohhhh . . . and if you hadn't noticed, my April contains an extra day. I started April 1st on a Thursday -- not Friday. Ooops!!! I think I'm trying to get back all of the extra hours we've lost from moving the clocks ahead a few weeks ago. Since this little square is glued down well, I'll have to be inventive with an artistic solution. Wish me luck!

March "Before"

Although I started this calendar journal with a bit of trepidation, I must admit that (much to my surprise) I'm enjoying the journey. Journaling every day has never appealed to me; however, every morning I take the time to wander into my little studio with coffee cup in hand to doodle or write on the previous day's square. Before I know it, the month is complete. I've surprised myself with my commitment to this little journal and the pleasure it's bringing!
