Change

"Change"
A Few Snippets
from my
New Journal

Over the last few months, very little time has been devoted to my art - holiday celebrations, family, obligations and life have taken precedence. In my quiet moments I've been contemplating the creative direction that I'd like to take in 2012.

2011 was a satisfying year filled with many art swaps and exchanges and a variety of art journals. I was thrilled to see my work published in a few Somerset publications too.

This year will be a year filled with exploration and discovery. My heart is leading me away from "paper" and is  directing me toward working with fabrics and fibers. I won't be putting my brushes and glue sticks into hibernation . . . I'll be using my trusty tools to create new artwork that can be translated into fabric.

I've also decided to limit my computer time . . . Less time in the Matrix, means more creative time in my studio. If you see fewer posts and visits, it's not that I'm not around or lurking, it's just that I'm busy following new paths.

2012 will be a year filled with new directions and new growth. My Muse is speaking, and I must listen.

May your day be filled with the joy of discovery!

Good deal. I think less posts are better anyway-that makes people more anxious to click on your icon to view your latest.

The fabric from collages will be exciting for you as well as for all of us to see too. Good luck with creating more!

Exciting to see what new directions you explore and I get the computer thing. You want to connect, yet it is overwhelming staying in touch some times. Good creativity lurking here I am sure. xox Corrine

I've been in The Matrix so long, I'm beginning to turn green! I have to set a limit too, but now I have this other crazy venture (Daily Digest) so I am always searching for "stuff". Can't wait to see what you do with fabric!!!! Big hugs for 2012!

Like you, my artistic path has now moved to include fabric. In fact, it became my passion two years ago when I started playing with surface designs. I often admit I prefer to design a piece of fabric than use it in my art. I look forward to seeing this new side to you, Terri. I love your colorful life, so I will continue to appreciate everything you make!

Sounds fabulous. I need to get off the computer too. But, sometimes it serves aat a needed diversion from the anxieties up here... the loneliness. I should funnel that into crativity instead!! xoxo

Oh yes, the web is very time consuming! I too limited my time at the computer - I just HAD to, with all my new affords and andeavers coming up in 2012... I become more of a 'lurker' these days - visiting but not much commenting (the commenting takes most of the time, you know!) I wish you fun times in your studio dear! Bring on the good stuff in 2012! Yeay!

I can TOTALLY understand the 'change' thing. I've made a HUGE change myself...quitting my job and moving across country. Change is good; can't wait to see where this takes you!

Terri you are so right to limit your blog time and to follow your heart ! I feel exactly the same.
Blogging is so fun and I do it for years and years now and met so many new friends.....but in meanwhile I have the feeling that my Photoshop knowledge is not developed the last months and that I too have to make choises.
I want to spent more time on learning new tutorials because Photoshop CS5 offers many new features that I want to learn.

And you know, because of my age that's a long proces hihi.
But anyway....I wish you so much joy with your new exploration and as many of your readers...I too love to see your new creations !!

Sending you big hugssss my dear and see you !!!

I'm amazed at all the people I'm seeing who are switching from paper to fabric this year. It happened to me too--right out of the blue, right around the beginning of 2012.

What is it? Great minds think alike?

Have fun with your explorations!
