More Gratitude & A Freebie!

Gratitude Journal
(Click anywhere to see the details!)

In the spirit of the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday, thought I'd post a few more spreads from my Gratitude Journal. All of the journaling is spontaneous - I don't think about what I'm going to write until I actually pick up my pen.

October 27 - 30th

And last but not least . . .

October 20 - 24th

I'll be taking an extended blogging break to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, and the surprise birthday party for my husband is scheduled for Saturday. (BTW - I haven't spilled the proverbial Birthday Beans! My DH never reads my blog unless I ask him too!)

Of course the Thanksgiving holiday isn't complete without a turkey, so here's an image that you might enjoy. He's bringing you a ton of wishes for a beautiful Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, love and blessings.
Happy Thanksgiving!

A Bit of Gratitude

Next week we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving here in the States. It's a time for thinking about our blessings and gifts, for spending time with family and friends, and it's the official beginning of the Holiday Season.

A few months ago I started a journal that's been dedicated to expressing gratitude for life's little blessings: Candles when there are no lights, a friend who becomes an angel during a family crises, an empty parking space in a full lot . . . . You get the idea!

Thought you might like to see some of the things I've been grateful for this fall.

By the way, I am very grateful to Lee @ The Way I see It for her generosity and kindness. Lee discovered a few blogs that she thought were visit-worthy, and was dismayed at the fact that although the blogs and the artists were awesome, no one had taken the time to leave any comments. Despite her busy work schedule, Lee did a very generous thing. She decided to do a giveaway for anyone who visited and left comments on those fabulous blogs. Wonderful people DO inhabit this earth!

Also, my heartfelt gratitude to Beth Niquette @ Beth's Artworx  Beth's blog post on Tuesday featured the journal page in my previous post. On Tuesday's, Beth generously writes about and showcases artists who's work she finds particularly inspiring. Her blog post also provides a forum for all artists of all mediums to share their work with one another.

I'm also grateful to everyone who's been visiting here and to everyone who leaves a comment - no matter how small. My personal life has been a bit crazy over the past few weeks, and my blog visits have sadly fallen by the wayside. My spare time has been spent on planning a surprise birthday party for my husband over Thanksgiving weekend. (Shhhhh! It's a secret!) I am truly blessed and thankful for my dear Blogland friends!

May your day be filled with many blessings!

Gratitude Journal Pages

Gratitude Journal Pages
(Click on any picture to see the details)

It's been a while since I've posted new artwork, so thought I'd share a few pages from my on-going "Gratitude Journal" project with you.

Since this journal is very long, I'll give you an "overview" of the entire spread first, and then an individual picture of each page. Remember to click on the small, two-page spread to see it in it's entirety.

Pages 3 & 4

And the next spread . . . . . . .

Pages 5 & 6

Wishing you a day filled with gratitude!

Gratitude Journal

With all of the bad news and bad weather in the world, not to mention flooding, economic downturns and illnesses, I decided that it was a good time to count my blessings - no matter how small or inconsequential. A Moleskine journal (3 1/2"x5 1/2") on my shelf seemed to be waiting for a special project - a gratitude journal. So on a quiet August afternoon, I gessoed all of the pages in preparation for my backgrounds, images and journaling.

The goal has been to find something to be thankful and grateful for each day. It doesn't matter what it is or how insignificant.  My thoughts of gratitude express how I'm feeling at the time I sit down to write in this journal.  And although I haven't journaled every single day, I have been very faithful to my "Gratitude Project".

Expect Miracles!

If you'd like to see the spreads in their entirety along with the details, please click on each of the pages. Since each landscaped spread is 11" long, it was very difficult to post a total overview of the pages.

Wishing you a day filled with gratitude and joy!
